Rebecca Barnhart-Allan
Designer Draftsman: Palm Beach

Rebecca Barnhart-Allan joined my staff in 2006 as a consulting designer-draftsman for projects in Florida. She has been working on a new construction project in Palm Beach, drawing my interior architectural design elevations and watercolor studies. Her personal style of hand drawing corresponds to that of Brian Plesmid, who does the Cleveland area project drawings and my furnishings plans for Florida. Her drawings are another commitment to our hand work rather than CAD sheets.

Hailing from a family of artists, and architects, Rebecca was influenced by her late father, Raymond Swann Barnhart and Edward Fordyce, a former Palm Beach architectural partnership. She received her degrees from Palm Beach Community College and Newberry College in South Carolina. Apprenticing for her father’s firm, she worked on Palm Beach Polo and Country Club in Wellington and an extensive portfolio of residential architecture. A home at the Polo Club was featured as an ad in Town and Country, and Architectural Digest for three years.

She branched off into her own design practice, working on residences primarily in Palm Beach and Martin County, but as far as Tallahassee and Lakeland. She also has had projects in Colorado Springs, North Carolina, Georgia, and South Carolina, Tennessee and Maine. She has explored architectural styles ranging from Mediterranean, French and Key West vernaculars.

Currently she resides in Jupiter with her husband, three children and a variety of pets. Her hobbies are painting, organic gardening, and utilizing green building techniques. She is keen on environmentally friendly ways of coexisting with Mother Earth. Rebecca is working on a design for her personal residence in the mountains of North Carolina, these principals featured in its total conception.
